7th Heaven,
V & S Moto, The Right Direction (Thetford) Team A and The Right Direction (Thetford) Team B all attended their first practice session and were the first teams to try out our new 'hard lined' track.  Out of the 19 team members attending only 6 had any riding experience, but thanks to the skills of our Instructors, and all the rider's quick ability to learn, every team member finished their session able to take to the track.  To assist novice riders with their riding lines, the track is to be marked with a temporary running line to show riders the correct way to corner.
Interestingly, 7 of the 19 riders attending were girls, redressing the balance in the MHB Services League of only 1 girl rider participating.
A special well done goes out to Luke Betts of Right Direction Team B and Kale Mellusco from V & S Moto.

MHB League ROUND TWO Overview                                                 Photos are on the Tracktime page
Dusty Devils have moved up from 2nd place in Round One to take the lead in Round Two, captained by Jon Perris, and team members Jamie Jackson, Cameron Foreman, Mathew Trudgill, and James Blackburn, between them, gained two 1sts, two 2nds, a 3rd and 4th place  to gain their 29 points.
MAG Energy should have been called Wilson Energy, as brothers Cameron and Jack Wilson (names in alphabetical order so they don't fight about that!) rode all 6 races between them.  Their team manager was very impressed on how they ran their team and was thankful their excellent decision making did not actually result in blood being spilt !!  Gaining another 24 points, Cameron and Jack have pushed their team from 3rd in Round One into 2nd place in Round Two.
Team Captain, Nathan King did an excellent job for MHB Services, and was later joined by Michael Ecclestone,  together they gained 17 points for their team, putting MHB 3rd in Round Two.
MAG Sport J's had 2 new riders - Brads Eade and Tom King, who did exceedingly well as both took 3rd place in their respective race, gaining 8 points for the team. Brothers, Dan and Stephen Cusdin, and Ben Keatleigh gained another 10 points between them to maintain the team's position of 4th place in the League. The team would like to wish their Captain, James Moss, as speedy recovery.
Fire Tyres stormed through with 32 points in Round Two.  Nathan Bloodworth, the team Captain, not only excelled in his team management, but in his riding.  Unfortunately Fire Tyres missed Round One - so despite their high score in Round Two - are currently holding 5th place.
Westcotec Team was a no show.

15 May 2008  Novice Teams Practice Session Overview:    Also hosted on       Photos for this session are up on Tracktime Page
Badtz Maru
-
attended their first practice session and stunned the Committee by taking to the track like ducks to water !  Captained by Mark Scamell, Badtz Maru team members Seb Ashwell, James Trim, James Horn, and Jonathan and Laura Fysh arrived on time, kitted up quickly, listened attentively to Dave Cusdin, our Instructor, and set off round the track.   Their riding abilities were excellent, and gave no hint that they were all complete novices.
Norfolk Arena - the team is to be re-shuffled.  Ricky Norman, Damon Hillier, and Lee & Reece Langley are to move up into Team Westcotec to take part in  the MHB Services League, as these riders have long standing mini moto experience.  Novices, Liam and Alex Parry continued the day's high standard tr, by demonstrating excellent riding skills from the start - despite never having riden a bike before!
7th Heaven
- this was the team's 2nd practice session.  Captained by Aimee Evans, team members Jack Neville, William Holford, Naomi Woodhouse, Christopher Kerr, and Danny Coucill all showed a remarkable improvement in their bike control and handling.  Danny had his first experience at track surfing!  But impressed the Co-ordinator by giving himself a couple of minutes to recover, and then getting straight back on his bike.  The members are all working very efficiently as a team, listening to guidance, and are presenting an impressive start as a race team.

V & S Moto
- this previously all ladies team, attended their 2nd session, captained by Genevieve Hodgins, and team members Georgia Brown, Kale Mellusco, Victoria McCarthy, Stephanie Marlow,  were joined by Joshua Brown (good to see you back Joshua!).  By listening to track tips from Nik Samson - the riders all ended their sessions far faster and in good control of the bikes.

A special well done at this session goes out to Christopher Kerr, Danny Coucill, and especially Kale Mellusco.
Many thanks to:
Dave Cusdin for his brilliant instructing - this was the most exceptional novice session ever.
The multi talented Perris family for turning out in force (and especially Steve and Jon for amusing us with their brotherly race battle!)
Daniel Horspole - Head Junior Marshall - for all his help
Nik Samson - for advising riders on track skills.

MHB League ROUND THREE Overview        Also hosted on  MAG-Sport-Racing-Logo-outer-glow-small-web-banner                   Photos are on the Tracktime page
Dusty Devils -
Are still holding the lead in Round Three, rising from 2nd place in Round One, up into 1st place in Round Two.  Team Captain, Jon Perris took a 1st and 2nd, scaling up his performance from Round Two (must be that new lid Jon!)  James Blackburn continued his high scoring standard with a 1st.  But both James and Matthew Trudgill lost out on their remaining two races as wet weather made the track too dangerous to run the final two races.
MHB Services - are fighting back!  Leading in Round One, dropping to 3rd place in Round Two, Carl Brooks single handedly brought his team back up to second place.
MAG Energy - have dropped from their second place in Round Two to third place in Round Three - with Team MHB Services pipping them by just one point.  Jack and Cameron Wilson were joined for this round by team captain Kane Beatson.
MAG Sport J's - have consistently remained 4th in all three rounds.  The team has suffered several rider changes, but team captain James Moss, Dan Cusdin, and Brads Eade interacted well as a team today.  Dan Cusdin has been steadily increasing his placings over the Rounds, and took a 2nd today.
Fire Tyres - are rising a place a round!  From a no show in Round One, to fifth place in Round Two, to now sitting joint fourth in Round Three.  Nathan Bloodworth was joined by team mate Alex Tuck and between them gained the second highest points score of Round Three.
Westcotec - joined Round Three with a new line up.  Reece and Lee Langley, and Ricky Norman have transferred from the Novice League.  Ricky Norman took a 2nd in Race 1, and 1st place in Race 4.  Reece and Lee were unlucky today losing out with Race 5 & 6 being rained off, and were unhappy with their bike (despite Ricky taking a 1st on it).  The new Rider line up for Westcotec proved a success today being the 3rd highest scoring team in this Round with 14 points.

Many thanks go out to our Instructor Dave Cusdin, who amazingly multi tasked, and kept the bikes going against all odds today, ably assisted by Daniel Horspole who is a dab hand at instantly repairing pull starts!
Once again the Perris family actioned all areas - what would we do without them!
Many thanks to our Instructor Paul Smith who was a star by finding one of our rider's glasses that have been missing for weeks!
Spookily, this session, we ended up with a pair of sunglasses and no owner this time !

Thanks to the James Blackburn of Dusty Devils (who worked out a rider's points system) we now have a Rider's Points Table so riders can track how they are doing on a personal riding basis.   Well done James !

12 June 2008  Novice Teams Practice Session Overview:  Also hosted on MAG-Sport-Racing-Logo-outer-glow-small-web-banner    Photos are up on Tracktime Page
All the Moto KL Riders were invited to come along to Norfolk Arena to meet with Alex Gault (17) - who rides for Astro Kawasaki.  Alex took to the track and led some of the novice riders round (thankfully nice and slowly !!), to show them the correct cornering lines.
Many thanks to the Press for  attending, and journalist 'superstar' -  Chris Hornsby advises that article/photos will be on the back page of The Citizen (18.6.08).  If you would like to see Alex Gault in action - he is racing at Snetterton 13-14 June - Qualifiers and 15 June 2008 is Race Day.  We would like to thank Alex and his father - Alex ! for taking time out of their punishing schedule to visit the Moto KL riders at Norfolk Arena.
PRIZE DRAW      Buffera Ltd  generously donated goodie bags for the Moto KL Prize Draw, containing the renowned Buff multifunctional headwear, stickers, dvds, tattoos, and mobile phone cleaners !!!
Winners of the goodie bags  (drawn by Alex Gault Senior) were:  Alex Parry (Team Norfolk Arena), Dan Cusdin (Team MAG Sport
J's), Jon Perris (Team Dusty Devils), Jonathan Fysh (Team Badtz Maru), and Daniel Horspole (Team MHB Services). But no-one went away empty handed, other prizes including stickers, badges, books, etc were distributed to all attending Moto KL members.
Badtz Maru - Once again this Team rode well, having now learnt controlled riding on the track, the team are now concentrating on honing their cornering skills to improve their speeds.  Badtz Maru are to have 2 reserve riders added to their team to stand in for absent Riders.  We will not now see Badtz Maru until September.  They will be away on a cycling holiday for what was their August session, so they will have a double session in September instead.
Norfolk Arena
-
has had a change round of Riders.  4 have moved up to the Race League.  So Norfolk Arena members Alex and Liam Parry have now been joined by Calum Bacon and Rhys Constance. Calum Bacon didn't stay long though - and has now moved up into the MHB Services League !  Applications are being accepted for the 3 vacant places - so if you are a novice rider contact the Co-ordinator asap on co-ordinator@motokl.org.uk for details.
The Right Direction (Thetford) A
- Team Members are Sean Rowe, Siobhan Brown, Joshua Burden, Jo Langston, Craig Rust, and Team Captain is Tom Bowers - who crashed during the session, badly bruising his knee, who we hope will be fully recovered soon.
The Right Direction (Thetford) B - has had a change round in members.  Team Members are now Evie Ladell, Louis Piesse, Jesse Langton, Luke Betts,
Omar Atiallah,  and Team Captain is Ashleigh Lewis.  Louis Piesse had his first go at track surfing, resulting in a injured hand, but insisted on, in 'true racing' style, to carry on riding.

Well done to all the Riders who take part in this Novice Session.
Many thanks to:
Dave Cusdin and Paul Smith - our Instructors
Jon Perris for his demonstration ride.  Jon (Team Dusty Devils) is a very smooth controlled rider, and has been chosen to show our novices cornering and bike handling.
Jon Perris (again !), and Daniel Horspole (Team MHB Services) for marshalling, and who entertained the Committee and novice Riders with their dog fight racing at the end of the session.
Simon Mollett (thank goodness you are back - and no more holidays for you) and Nik Samson.

MHB League ROUND FOUR Overview            Also hosted on MAG-Sport-Racing-Logo-outer-glow-small-web-banner       Photos are up on the Tracktime page
Dusty Devils - are determined not to relinquish the top spot running a clear 20 points ahead of their nearest contenders!  Jon Perris took 2 firsts, and is chasing James Blackburn (his own team mate) for no. 1 spot on the Riders Points Table reducing the number of points between them to a difference of 2 (from 3 in Round Three).  James Blackburn took a 2nd in his race, and it is good to see Jon and James working as team mates and competing against each other on an individual basis.    Jamie Jackson is back - but was unlucky and crashed out of his race and Cameron Foreman was also off form  These two pals are normally very strong riders - but that is racing for you!  Calum Bacon who spent one session as a novice and was immediately promoted up into the race league,  impressed everyone by taking a 3rd in his first ever race.
MHB Services - have dropped again to 3rd place, but have had a change of riders - with Daniel Horspole, Tom Harrison, and Ryan Bunkle joining the team for their first race session - so some settling in is to be expected.  Nathan King (team captain) had a good round taking a 2nd.   Daniel Horspole was unlucky - losing a chain.  Both Tom Harrison and Ryan Bunkle - first time out ever trackside, did very well.  Many thanks to Lee Bunkle for marshalling and if you are not doing anything on 10 July your presence trackside would be appreciated!
MAG Energy - did not have a good round.  Alternating between 3rd and 2nd placings in previous rounds, they have dropped to 5th place in Round 4.
Cameron Wilson was unable to ride - arriving with his leg in a cast !  Wishing you a speedy recovery Cameron.  His brother Jack Wilson was back on form and took a healthy 3rd in his race - well done Jack.  Bradley Gant - a very strong rider -  took a 4th, but retired from the Round due to an injury (unrelated to mini moto racing) starting to cause him problems.  Ellie Whiting was also off form this round, probably due to having missed a couple of Rounds, but in excellent team spirit standing in as captain  - also stood in for 3 extra races as Jack had to leave early, and Bradley had retired.  Well done Ellie.  Captain - Kane Beatson unfortunately arrived after the racing had finished, but got some practice time in on the track.
MAG Sport J's - 4 appears to be their number !  This team have held 4th position, and have had a new line up - in every Round !  James Moss is one of two founder member of this team and as captain has seen his team members change constantly - but has done really well in keeping the team spirit alive.  James was back on form this Round and took a 3rd.  Dan Cusdin, the only other founder member of this team seems totally unphased by the constant rider changes and kept his strong form with another 2nd.  Bradz Eade attended, but having just done a 5 hour fitness test, not suprisingly -wasn't up to racing.  New team member David Borley was a star - never having been out on the track before, he settled easily into his warm up session, and took a healthy 4th in his race, and impressed us by instantly becoming part of the team.  It was good to see he was supported by numerous family members in attendance as well.
Fire Tyres - are riding high in 2nd place.  They have fought their way up from 6th place in Round One due to a no show, to 5th, joint 4th, and have now skipped to 2nd place in the league.  The team has been dogged with attendance problems, team captain Nathan Bloodworth holding the team in the league in Round Two and accompanied only by fellow team member Alex Tuck in Round Three.  This Round saw Alex Tuck take every race as Alistair Farthing decided not to participate in the racing, gaining an incredible 28 points fpr the team.  Well done Alex.
Westcotec - again sees a rider line up change.  Apart from their captain being unable to attend the last 3 Rounds, and various non attendance by other team members, the team has constantly changed riders.  Hopefully the new line up will stay the course. The team gained a huge 25 points in this Round - so things are looking up.  Ricky Norman, an excellent rider,  is totally unphased by the changes, and has consistently been placed 1st in his Round Three and Four races - had he joined Moto KL at the beginning of the season, he would be a serious contender in the Riders Points Table.  Co-ordinator wonders if we will ever see him smile though ! New team member Geno Cowley has made an excellent start taking two fourths, settling in very well.  We welcome back Damon Hillier who took part in the 2007 Race Day, Damon took it steady in his first race, and went into turbo to take 2nd place in his second race.

Many thanks to:
Steve Perris - yes we have got him back - think he was getting worried about how many websites his absence was going to appear on !  Steve has impressed Simon Mollett - our technical support, with his spannering skills.
As always thanks to Colin - who I rely on to record everything I miss (too much paperwork !) and the delightful Debbie Perris - who I am trying to source a MAG t shirt for asap.
Dave Cusdin for his instructing, and droll sense of humour.
Paul Smith for managing to fit instructing into his busy schedule that day.
All our ground assistants for the day, including Nik Samson, Lee Bunkle, Fen Govier-Tedder, Bradz Eade. and Daniel Horspole.

10 July 2008  Novice Teams Practice Session Overview:  Also hosted on MAG-Sport-Racing-Logo-outer-glow-small-web-banner    Photos are up on Tracktime Page
7th Heaven - Team captain -Aimee Evans, Jack Neville, Christopher Kerr, and Danny Coucill took the track this session.  Aimee crashed out on the back straight, resulting in a hospital check up, and so much for sympathy - her team mates were vying for the captaincy in her absence!!  Let us know how you got on Aimee.  Danny Coucill also came off - but bounced - seems 7th Heaven were more earth bound than in the heavens today!
V & S Moto -
Team captain -Genevieve Hodgins, Kayl Mellusco, Joshua and Georgia Brown attended.  Joshua Brown gave our demonstration rider - Jon Perris (who is holding 2nd position in the Rider's Points league) a good run for his money !
Norfolk Arena -
Rhys Constance is the sole member of Norfolk Arena at present - his team members having fallen by the wayside for a variety of reasons.  V & S Moto have very kindly offered him a place on their team - so Rhys will be back on the track in August under a new team banner.
Many thanks to:
The Norfolk Arena staff for all their assistance. Dave Cusdin - our Instructor, Simon Mollett - who was awash with mini motos requiring his tender care!,  but who is now ably assisted by Steve Perris.  Both last seen surrounded by ailing mini motos!
The Perris family - Colin, Debbie, and Jon who all constantly multi task, and Paul Smith - who still popped in even though we gave him the day off!

MHB League ROUND FIVE Overview            Also hosted on MAG-Sport-Racing-Logo-outer-glow-small-web-banner       Photos will be up on the Tracktime page shortly
Firstly apologies from the Co-ordinator - photos for the last 3 sessions will be up on the website shortly ... I promise !
School break, as usual, played havoc with attendance, with many riders being away on holiday.
Fire Tyres - hit a glitch this round with most of its members away on holiday, and Team Captain Nathan Bloodworth being involved in a road traffic accident.  Moto KL wish you a speedy recovery Nathan.  Unfortunately missing this round has seen the team slide from 2nd place to 6th place in the league.
Westcotec - Ricky Norman was a star, being totally unphased by being the only member of his team attending this Round, and leaving half way through a social event to attend the racing.   We were assured today by Nan that he does smile .. but we are still waiting Ricky.  Joking apart, Ricky is a very good consistent rider - and insider information tells us that his riding skills became apparent when he was only 3 years old.  Ricky only joined his team in Round 3, but has been quickly clocking up points, and has closed the gap between 4th and 3rd place by 1 point on the Riders Table in this Round.  Damon Hillier joined Ricky halfway through the Round, his late arrival due to public transport problems.  Between them they pulled in 24 points, thus maintaining their new high scoring mode for Westcotec.   Well done lads !
MAG Sport J's
  - Dan Cusdin was also a star today, being the sole representative for his team.   David Borley was off watching his dad on a track day at Snetterton, Team Captain James Moss was helping out at the local airshow.  The team currently has a couple of  vacancies - so if you have mini moto riding experience - get in touch.
MAG Energy
- turned out 4 team members today. Team Captain Kane Beatson, Ellie Whiting, and brothers Jack and Cameron Wilson moved their team up a place in the league from 5th to 4th.  Thanks to Mr Wilson for allowing himself to be cooked slowly out on the track - no - we didn't bbq him ! He was marshalling and it was hot out there today.  Thanks also to Ellie Whiting for trialing the wheelie wet one race,, and an inside tip - she did really well - watch out lads!
Dusty Devils -
lost out to MHB Services on points on this Round, but have managed to hang on to their first placing in the league.   Team Captain Jon Perris, Jamie Jackson, Matthew Trudgill, Calum Bacon, and James Blackburn between them brought in a healthy 27 points.  Jon Perris also helped with trialing the wheelie wet race, and discovered the first glitch of this new race for us, and managed to give the Co-ordinator the best laugh ever.  Thanks Jon, and hope you are okay after your spectacular spill today.
MHB Services
- Carl Brooks and Daniel Horspole excelled themselves today. Bringing in 32 points between them - the highest score for this round.  32 points has only ever been achieved once before by Fire Tyres in Round 2.  Superb riding lads!  Team Captain Nathan King has luckily for him, obtained a summer job, unlucky for his team though.  The remaining team members were away doing school break stuff.
Many thanks to:   Norfolk Arena - our venue hosts.

Simon Mollett and Steve Perris for so swiftly attending to the constant stream of repairs for this Round, and to the Australian Speedway riders who helped out.    Colin - for being able to capture all the fantastic photos and the delightful Debbie Perris - Marshall 'extraodinaire' - who looked stunning in her MAG t shirt.   Dave Cusdin - for his much appreciated serenity.  This Round we welcomed Mrs Cusdin - another experienced motorcyclist -  who multi tasked constantly - hope to see you next session!  Many thanks to the Rider's dads who didn't get to relax in the hot sunshine!
